Snowfall is so silent
it deafens the ears
as its solitude descends
the landscape disappears
it's nothing like
the pitter patter of the rain
the splish splash
or the
rat a tat tat
on the window pane
if it didn't erase
everything it touched
we wouldn't even know
what came down while we were sleeping
slippery
silent
snow

I am loving the snow here. It has come down so soft and white during this gray afternoon.
